Once upon a time…

there lived a not-so-old man, a not-so-old woman, and a not-so-little boy. Actually, these three were all Brainsport employees—Brian, Liz and Tyler. And rather than baking bread, as the Gingerbread man folktale goes, they were sipping margaritas at Las Palapas.

The Jingle Bell Run had just been cancelled, and they had recently opened the doors on their brand new Brainsport location. With a vision to create the world’s best fun run, the three quickly came up with idea for the Gingerbread fun run. Once stumbled upon, the name seemed perfect—it was both a folktale about running and the most delicious winter treat.

Choosing the charity proved just as intuitive. Born with a clubfoot, Brian’s son Oscar received much help and resources from SaskAbilities. SaskAbilities helps people move, the same mandate and mission as Brainsport, making the choice as fitting as white icing on a molasses cookie.
