Jason Burns doesn't think he will ever run dry of people to talk with while hosting his SaskatchewRun Podcast.

"I could do it forever - there are so many interesting people," stated the 48-year-old run enthusiast from Regina.

The podcast - which you can easily find on your phone - is now a year old and has more than 50 episodes in the archives.

When I asked him to list his favourite few episodes, his answer shows the cross-section of people on the podcast.

"I think one story I really liked was Andy Collin did a 200-miler in Washingston state and his dad came to help crew him," recalled Burns. "His dad was totally amazed by it."

Another favourite podcast involved Leisha Grebinski - who ironically hosts a podcast for CBC Saskatchewan.

"Leisha traveled in Europe and used running to explore it," he remembered.

If Burns swapped roles to become a guest on his own show, there would be no shortage of topics to cover.

On the running scene, his goal is to make the start line next July for the 100-miler at the Sinister 7 Ultra. And away from running, Burns and his wife have operated a cleaning company - cleaning new-build homes before owners take possession - for 30 years, which is a very impressive run (pardon the pun) as an entrepreneur.

But if I were hosting his podcast for a week with Burns as the guest, we would definitely start by talking about his special connection to his dog Baker - who is sitting perfectly beside Burns on the dock at a lake in the photo he provided for this week's Brainsport Times.
